There are a lot of easier planets that you see later than New Babilo. Look at the Power and HP of the enemy fleet and its position in the BattleCalc dropdown menu. Third, try it out like you did.Ībout your problem with New Babilo: Did you take all easier planets? Because rule number 0 should really be that you are sure this is the next planet you want/need to take over. You can use the ranking in the ShipCalc as a rough idea to see what types of ship to produce to get the most strength from your resource production. Second rule, every ship type contibutes differently to the total fleet. Which means sometimes no ships of a cluster are better than more. Wiped clusters are bad, except for the last cluster. So first rule, don't lose your fleet to overkill damage. Battle is over if one side is destroyed or after 256 rounds. After all clusters are calculated (same for enemy fleet), the next round starts. This damage is unmitigated by the next cluster's armor, which could be a bug. Special case is if the whole cluster is wiped, in which case the overkill damage spills into the next cluster. From the % of HP left in the cluster, the number of lost ships is calculated. This is compared to the ship type's HP, reduced by armor and shield effects and modified by speed. The heavier, the more % of enemy power it takes. Each type of ship is calculated as a cluster, it takes damage as a percentage of the enemy power depending on the weight of the cluster. Your fleet has a certain total power, same for the enemy. For your first question: I'm pretty sure most of this is tooltipped ingame.
